Masashi Sato
Industry Creation Director, Global Planning Group, ispace
Masashi takes the lead on global industry creation in which he creates lunar industry vision and spread to social ecosystem including government, commercial sector, academia, and general public so that the whole global society recoginizes the value and potential of this new realm. Masashi joined ispace in June 2019.
Masashi is also Co-founder, Director, and COO of SPACETIDE Foundation hosting the first national space business conference. He is a Committee member of the “Committee of Future Space Utilization” by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication. Masashi is also active as a committee member of other government organizations.
Masashi Sato has a B.S. and a M.S. from the University of Tokyo, where he studied earth and planetary science. As a professional consultant, Masashi worked for Nomura Research Institute for 16 years mainly on technology management, open innovation, intellectual properties, and space industry with government and private sector companies. He also earned a Master of Public Policy from UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.
